As we come to the end of the year, we would like to thank you for being part of our co-operative
and share a few important updates. This season gives us an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve
achieved together and to look ahead with confidence.
The coming year marks an important milestone for our co-operative. On January 1, 2026,
Gosfield North Communications Co-operative Ltd. and Quadro Communications Co-operative
Inc. will officially amalgamate. While our marketing and brand name is still being finalized, the
new corporate entity will operate as Gosfield-Quadro Communications Co-operative Inc.
This milestone reflects more than two years of careful planning, teamwork, and dedication from
staff and leadership across both organizations. We are proud of the work that has brought us to
this point.
By coming together, we are uniting two community-owned co-operatives with strong local roots
and shared values. This positions us to be stronger, more resilient, and better able to serve our
members and communities well into the future.
We would like to sincerely thank board members Dan Stanley and Rob O’Connor as they
conclude their terms. Their service and commitment have been greatly appreciated.
Joining the board of the new organization Gosfield-Quadro are Derek Watts, Don Newman,
and Darin Rickeard, who will continue to provide strong leadership moving forward.
We are pleased to report that 2025 marks our third consecutive year of positive financial
performance. This reflects a strong turnaround since 2022 and demonstrates the financial
stability of your co-operative.
In keeping with our co-operative values, Gosfield committed $250,000 toward the construction
of the new Community Centre in Cottam, including a 20-year naming commitment with the
Town of Kingsville. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to the communities we
serve.
We also issued our third consecutive patronage payment in 2025. This is the result of
responsible financial management and would not be possible without the continued trust and
support of our members.
We continue to invest in expanding and strengthening our network. Major projects completed
this year include:
A $5 million expansion in and around Ruthven
A $1 million, six-phase expansion project to our existing network
Together, these investments—along with the completed fibre upgrade in our home service
area—represent a total commitment of $10 million. This work strengthens our network today
and helps ensure reliable, sustainable service for generations to come.
January 1, 2026, marks the beginning of a new chapter as we operate as one unified co-operative.
While change brings challenges, we are confident this step positions us for continued success for
the next 100 years.
Thank you for your trust, your support, and your commitment to our co-operative.
The behalf of the staff, we wish you and your families a joyful holiday season, and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
Warm regards,
Your Board of Directors
Derek Watts
