Newsletter - September 2023

As September arrives, we bid farewell to what we fondly called summer. Reflecting on the past few months, it's clear that Mother Nature didn't always favour us. Nonetheless, we hold hope for a more promising fall and winter ahead. Meanwhile, as we drive our business forward, numerous positive developments were achieved.

Construction:

Our Board of Directors announced an exciting acceleration of our fiber upgrade project's timeline. Instead of the initially planned three years, we are now aiming to complete the entire project within two years. We're fast-tracking from our 2024 plan to the fall of 2023, starting with County Rd 34 W (east of Cameron) and County Rd 34 W (Town).

As well, we hold optimism regarding the potential completion of the following areas in 2023, subject to favorable weather and permits: County Rd 34 E (Town) and County Rd 27 E. The remaining areas are now scheduled for 2024, including County Rd 34 E/Inman, Sideroad, Cameron Sideroad E, Road 7 E/Road 6 E, County Rd 14, Road 8 E/North Talbot, Road 6 W/South Talbot/Division Rd, County Rd 8 E and W.

Community:

In August, during a press release, Lakeshore Council expressed its support for providing free wifi in eight parks within the Lakeshore municipality. This milestone achievement was made possible as Lakeshore became the first municipality in Essex County to benefit from an initiative backed Connecting Windsor Essex in which  Gosfield North was awarded a grant to complete the work.

September 6, we happily communicated to the 2023 winners of the Gosfield Bursaries. We thank all those who participated and submitted their applications and essays, exploring the impact of their field of study on, or by, the evolving telecommunications landscape. The deserving winners are Mia Stanley, Olivia Gabriele, Nevaeh Piroski, and Maysie Dugal.

As well, Gosfield continues in our longstanding tradition of supporting our local communities by actively sponsoring local clubs and associations, sports, community-based initiatives. Year-to-date our recipients have doubled in count.

In continued support of our community, Gosfield actively participated in the 59th Annual Fall Fair and Horse Festival in Cottam on September 17. Nearly all our team members and their families joined the parade, walking alongside our float.

Customer Focus:

On September 1, we proudly announced Mr. Z as the winner of three free months of service through our electronic bill payments sign-up contest. We thank all those participated.  For a glimpse of the event, you can find pictures on our Facebook page.

Our commitment to providing exceptional service is validated by strong results from our customer satisfaction surveys. Following each service call, we distribute a nine-question survey. To date, we've received 138 responses, representing a 30% response rate. 94% of respondents rated their experience as outstanding or excellent.

Service Retirement:

After conducting a comprehensive evaluation of our email platform and considering the evolving needs of our customers, it has become clear that our current email service is outdated and no longer aligned with the high standards we strive to provide. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to retire the Gosfieldtel.com email service, effective December 31, 2024. This decision was not made lightly. We believe that by discontinuing this service, we can direct our resources more effectively towards enhancing and expanding our core offerings. This reallocation of resources will enable us to better meet your evolving communication and connectivity needs.

Once again, we extend our sincere thank you for your continued support and trust in Gosfield. We are committed to providing you with exceptional service and delivering on our promises. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
